Career Goals
Having been in the healthcare field for almost a decade has led me to realize that there is a lot to be done in the field of science and technology. After having obtained my master’s in public health and finding out that most of the opportunities in this field which include my current background would require economic sacrifice on my end, I have decided to switch gears and add on additional education in the form of master’s in bioinformatics. This new aim will allow me to combine my background in healthcare, biology, public health and statistics and add a computer science component. I will focus primarily on sequencing and gene editing in this new career path. After having been on the waitlist for the master’s program at the University of Maine, I am pleased to announce that I will be allowed to start the master’s in bioinformatics program in 2026. I will follow a three-year plan, and I should graduate by fall 2028 to become a bioinformatician. Hopefully I will be posting here about my new job in this field soon enough.
